Dear Wyche Families,
Welcome to an exciting new school year! I’m Dr. Yolanda D. Green, and I am honored to serve as your new principal. With over 30 years in education—including 23 as an administrator and the last 7 as a principal—I am deeply committed to academic excellence, a positive school culture, and strong community partnerships.
Before joining the Wyche family, I proudly served as principal of South Miami Heights Elementary School for seven years. During my tenure, I maintained high academic performance and led the school to consistently strong results on the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST). I prioritized student-centered initiatives, strengthened school culture, and expanded access to meaningful enrichment opportunities. From launching TeleHealth services and creating the COMPASS Program for multilingual learners, to revitalizing cheerleading and celebrating our students as Robotics and District Chess Champions—every effort was focused on uplifting and empowering our students. We also earned a Silver STEM Designation, reflecting our commitment to innovation and future-ready learning.
Now at Wyche, I am thrilled to continue this work and build upon the school’s rich programs. We are proud to offer an Italian Bilingual Program, cheerleading, drum line, a dedicated ASD program, and our very own Food Forest, which supports health, sustainability, and hands-on learning.
Our 2025–2026 theme, “Sailing to Success: Destination A!”, captures our focus on growth, innovation, and unity. This year, we will expand STEM, robotics, and Chess opportunities, while strengthening family engagement through literacy nights, culturalcelebrations, and wellness events that reflect the spirit of Wyche.
At Charles D. Wyche, Jr. Elementary, our dedicated teachers and staff are the driving force behind our success. Their passion and commitment create a positive, engaging environment where students feel valued and empowered. I am honored to join this incredible team as we work together to nurture academic excellence, foster a strong school culture, and support every child’s growth.
Here’s to a year of growth, connection, and achievement—together, we’re sailing to success!
Warmly,
Dr. Yolanda D. Green
Principal
